Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from across Europe developing cutting-edge XR healthcare solutions are now invited to apply. Selected candidates will be awarded up to €40,000 in funding and gain access to a vibrant pan-European innovation network.
The VR Health Champions Open Call 2025 has officially begun! We are looking for ambitious SMEs to work alongside five leading XR healthcare projects and accelerate their journey to market readiness.
This exceptional opportunity is open to start-ups, scale-ups, and service providers operating in MedTech and digital health, especially those focused on virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and other digital healthcare technologies. It is also ideal for organisations aiming to strengthen their footprint in the European innovation ecosystem.
Successful applicants will benefit from:
- Up to €40,000 in cascade funding
- Strategic pairing with one of our five flagship projects

- Legally established in:
- A region covered by the VR Health Champions consortium:
- Belgium: Brussels Capital region
- Germany: Oberbayern region
- Hungary: Budapest region
- Italy: Trento region
- Latvia
- Poland: Malopolska region, Lodzkie region
- Portugal: Centro Region, Grande Lisboa
- Spain: Madrid
- A less developed region in the EU
- An outermost region of the EU
- A region covered by the VR Health Champions consortium:
- Able to demonstrate at least 1 year of business or professional activity
